Kennebunk, Kennebunkport and Cape Porpoise are legendary for their seafaring history. Ships were built here centuries ago, and now mega-yachts and leisure boats fill the docks next to working lobster boats.

Kennebunkport and Cape Porpoise have bustling marinas with lobster boats tours, and sightseeing tours departing throughout the summer. If you prefer to stay on shore, you can cast a line and fish from the jetties that line the Kennebunk River. For more ocean adventure, rent a kayak or canoe to explore the rivers and harbors.

Kennebunks’ beaches are varied, Gooches and Kennebunk Beach are great for walking, sunbathing, swimming or surfing when the waves are just right. Goose Rocks Beach is popular with families for its wide stretch of sand and gentle surf. Mother’s Beach has a playground right by the ocean, and tidal pools full of fascinating sea life.
